Carved stone pillars, layered steps and soft reflected light make Adalaj one of the most romantic backdrops near Ahmedabad. Go early in the morning, when the light falls gently into the well and crowds are thin. Traditional outfits – bandhani, patola or a classic sherwani – look stunning against the sandstone.
2. Sarkhej Roza
Wide courtyards, arches and a calm lake make Sarkhej Roza perfect for cinematic, slow-moving video shots. Late afternoon gives warm golden light through the arches. Dress respectfully and keep the shoot quiet – it is a heritage and religious site.
3. Sabarmati Riverfront and Atal Bridge
For a modern, city-style look, the riverfront promenade and the colourful Atal Bridge are hard to beat. Shoot at sunset and stay for blue hour, when the bridge lights come on – ideal for western outfits and stylish couple portraits.
4. Kankaria Lake

6. Thol Lake and Day Trips
If you want nature, Thol Lake (about an hour away) offers open skies and birds in winter. For a full-day shoot, couples also travel to Rani ki Vav in Patan or Polo Forest for greenery and old temples.
